Physicist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove discovered binaural beats in 1839.
Binaural beats are two different frequencies of sound that each ear observes separately.
When you listened to them with headphones, your brain creates its own beat to reconcile the difference between the two frequencies.
This beat equals the difference between the two frequencies.
Scientists and researchers have discovered that these particular beats have a hypnotic effect on all whoever listens to them.
When you listen to a 10 Hz frequency in your left ear, while listening to a 15 Hz frequency in your right ear, your brain creates its own frequency in 5 Hz to make up the difference.
This results in a beat that’s all in your head.

Biophysicist Gerald Oster researched this phenomenon in 1973.
